The APT Diploma for working with Intellectual Disability provides 120 hours of focused training and is fully accredited by APT (The Association for Psychological Therapies). We bring the training to your own organization, for maximum cost-effectiveness, and up to 15 people can attend.
The APT Diploma for Working with Intellectual Disability provides 120 hours of training over 12 months. We bring all the modules to you for a fixed fee, to ensure you get a supportive group addressing the same material.
The diploma comprises 20 days of training made up from your 8 chosen modules below. You choose one of the 3-day modules to drop. Everybody on the course attends the same 8 modules.
After every module students are expected to sit an exam. To be awarded the diploma, students must attend at least 7 of the live taught modules, and pass at least 7 of the exams.
To obtain a distinction, students must submit and pass a written case study (3,000 - 4,000 words) describing the work based application of the approach they have studied in that module.
You will be registered as having attended the course, thereby gaining APT's Diploma in Working with Psychosis, and receive a certificate to this effect and accreditation which gains you access to the resources associated with the course.
Your registration lasts indefinitely, and your accreditation to use the resources lasts for 3 years and is renewable by attending a Masterclass top-up day or submitting evidence of continued practice, and your reflections on that practice (to the required level).
Your accreditation is given value by the fact of over 125,000 people having attended APT training. See APT accreditation for full details.
Online Live and Exclusive course (for teams and organisations):
Online Live Courses typically take slightly less time than the face-to-face course on which it is based (because of less group discussion and group exercises) but they are live and pleasingly interactive. Click here to view prices.
Delegates can be anywhere that is conducive to concentrating, all together or separate, so long as they have access to a computer with a good internet connection. And as a manager, you have ‘guaranteed completion’: you only pay for delegates who successfully complete (minimum 15).
Option 2: Bring the course to your organization:
We bring the training to your own organization for a fee of $50,000 (plus tutor travel and accommodation expenses) for a group of up to 15 people.

Option 3: 'Train the Trainer':
If you or a colleague are a senior professional (e.g. consultant psychologist) and have a talent for communication and teaching, then you are welcome to apply to become an APT-accredited tutor. You could then tutor the course - or your chosen modules from it - in your own organization, under license.
This is not only a highly appropriate use of senior professionals, but it also saves your organization the tutor-component of the fee (around 50%) each time you run it or your chosen modules.
