Mindfulness training courses from the Association for Psychological Therapies (APT), a leading provider of accredited courses for professionals working in mental health and related areas.
All courses are available 'online live' (via Zoom or Teams) or face-to-face for groups/organizations to attend. It is the only Mindfulness training that is APT-accredited and also gives you access to APT’s relevant downloadable resources for use post-course.
A 2-day course.
Mindfulness is a psychological intervention that we dream of: it works both for clients/patients and us, and its effectiveness is demonstrated not just by clinical studies but by the unusual number of people testifying to its benefit. Moreover it is a quick, simple concept with obvious validity and relevance. It fits with the thinking of those who maintain that "To live effectively and well cannot be a complicated thing, so any intervention to help people do so should not itself be complicated”.
A 3-day course.
This course concentrates much more on Mindfulness than it does on CBT. So it explains why Mindfulness meditation is likely to help recurrently depressed people, looks briefly at the published evidence that confirms that it can, and the NICE guidelines that commend it, but spends most of the time in experiential exercises and in discussing those exercises. There is a small amount of lecture input, but listening to lectures on Mindfulness is not a sensible pastime so the course focuses on understanding Mindfulness, acquiring the ability to practise Mindfulness meditation, and the ability to convey it to others.
A 3-day course.
This course is available Onsite (we come to you and deliver it to a group of up to 15 delegates).
This is a course for people who have at least 6 months practice subsequent to receiving Level 3 APT-Accreditation (often much more). In lectures, the masterclass provides more depth on some of the topics in APT's Mindfulness courses but is mainly focused on developing skill, based around the following components: listening to and making case presentations, watching video demos by others, role-play/real-play where you interview others and they interview you, and establishing a stable system for support and development for yourself in this area post course. The result is that you enhance your skill and technique, not just your knowledge. Successful completion also gains you APT's Level 4 accreditation in the subject.
