Winners of the APT-RAID® Award for Excellence in Working with Challenging Behavior 2018

Below are the recipients of the APT-RAID® Award for Excellence in Working with Challenging Behavior 2018. These annual awards were established to keep people 'enthused' and thinking about how they can apply training in risk assessment and management in their practice.

Transitional Rehabilitation Unit, St Helens, Merseyside.
Dr Miguel Montenegro, Toni Vedmore, Pauline McLoughlin, Dr Leanne Daniels.

Judges comments: this is a study looking at the impact of an emotions management group for people with a brain injury, using RAID informed techniques in a service using the RAID philosophy of care. The pre and post group scores show a positive impact on anxiety, depression and stress scores. The factor analysis describing the impact of the group is really interesting showing four groups of positive themes and we liked the topics covered looking at emotions but also positive behaviours and maintaining wellbeing.
